Calvin Harlow7 Whitney (John6, Amos5, Amos4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of John6 and Betsey (Fairbanks) Whitney, was born 22 Nov 1814, Newburgh, ME, and died 15 Nov 1892.

He "of Newburgh" married 6 Jun 1850, Monson, ME, Rebecca C. Stewart of St. Albans, ME.[1] She was born about 1830, ME, and died after 1880.

Calvin resided in Newburgh, ME. He was at first a merchant, and then a farmer.

He was proably the C. H. Whitney, Justice of the Peace, Penobscot, 15 Sep 1844.[2]

a. Kate W. Merrill, b. 31 Dec 1874, Brownville, ME, m. Edgar G. Verrill.[4]
iii. John R. Whitney, b. 20 Jan 1856, Newburgh, ME; d. 4 Aug 1919, Hampden, ME; m. Emma F. Spicer, 15 FEB 1901 in Rutland, VT. She was b. 11 Aug 1866 in Michigan, the
daughter of John and Annet (Allen) Spicer. She d. 29 Jan 1908 in Hampden, ME. Both are buried in the Hill Cemetery, Newburgh Center, ME.
iv. Jennie L. Whitney, b. ca. 1859, prob. Newburgh, ME; d. after 1880.
v. Sarah Rebecca Whitney, b. ca. 1865, Newburgh, ME; d. 1942; m. 3 Oct 1895 in Hampden, ME, Ernest Franklin Reed, the son of Charles F. and Carrie (Goss) Reed. He was b. 10 Sep 1873 in Levant, ME and d. in 1949. Both are buried in the South Levant Cemetery, Levant, ME.
vi. Calvin Lincoln Whitney, b. 4 Feb 1867, Newburgh, ME; lived in Alameda Co., CA from 1900-1902. Nothing more known.
