Family:Whitney, Charles Addington (1821-1878)

Charles Addington⁸ Whitney (Charles⁷, Phinehas⁶, William⁵, William⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Charles⁷ and Dolly (Davenport) Whitney, was born 12 Oct 1821, Shirley, MA,^[1] and died 23 May 1878.

He married firstly, 11 May 1853, Winchendon, MA, Mary Frances Parker, daughter of Joel Parker.^[2] She was born about 1829, Shirley, MA, and died 11 Jan 1857.

He married secondly, 11 May 1871, New Ipswich, NH, Mrs. Bertha Amelia (Viett) Holman.^[3] She was born about 1823, Hamburg, Germany, and died 9 Jun 1905. She had married firstly, before 1846, Gilman Converse Holman (1818-1894) of Marlborough, NH, and Lockeford, CA. They must have been divorced, since she was living separately in 1860 and 1870, and both he and she remarried.
