Charles B.8 Whitney (James7, Abel6, Elijah5, Elijah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of James7 and Jerusha H. (Smith) Whitney, was born about 9 Jun 1846, Bristol, VT, and died 5 Dec 1887, Adams, MA, aged 41 years 5 months 26 days, of intestinal obstruction.[1] He was buried in White River Junction, VT.

He married, 1 Jul 1872, Bristol, VT, Harriet A. Chadwick, daughter of Richard and Rachel (Wheeler) Shadrack.[2]

i. George E.9 Whitney, b. ca. 1875, VT.
ii. James R. Whitney, b. ca. 1879, VT; m. 10 Dec 1898, Lebanon, NH, Alice M. Lewis.[3]
