Charles Edward8 Whitney (Elias7, Jonathan6, Elias5, Elias4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Elias7 and Zelona Semira (Carpenter) Whitney, born 24 Oct 1836, Milford, MA,[1] died 17 Nov 1908, Milford, MA, aged 72 years 24 days, of Bright's disease.[2]

He married, 13 Sep 1859, Chester, VT, Mary Elizabeth Onion, daughter of Horace and Julia A. (Deming) Onion. She was born 30 Apr 1840, Chester, VT, died after 1910. Apparently her father changed his name to Deming, and his daughter followed suit, so some records call her Mary Elizabeth Deming.

He was a bootmaker.

He is justice of the peace, bail commissioner, and first special justice of the third district court of southern Worcester. Is secretary of Montgomery Lodge, A. F. & A. M.

He resided 16 Grant St., Milford, MA.
