Charles Edward8 Whitney (John Beadon7, Josiah6, Josiah5, David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of John Beadon7 and Harriet (Cushing) Whitney, was born 16 Mar 1837, Ashby, MA, and died 15 Jan 1908, Dedham, MA, aged 70 years 9 months 29 days, of mitral regurgitation with dilatation of heart.[1]

He married firstly, 27 May 1863, Townsend, MA, Lydia Ann Dix,[2] daughter of Jacob E. and Mary G. (-----) Dix. She was born 16 Aug 1846, Townsend, MA, and died 28 Jan 1883, Boston, MA, aged 36 years 5 months 10 days, of pneumonia.[3]

He "of Boston" married secondly, 25 Nov 1885, Norwood, MA (recorded in Dedham, MA), Minnie Ridley "of Dedham", daughter of Matthias and Lydia Ann (Rolfe) Ridley. She was born Jun 1857, Charlestown, MA,[4] and died after 1900.

He is an organ key maker; resided Roxbury, MA, 9 Catawba St. In 1879-1882 he was an organ key maker living at 13 Frothingham St., Boston, MA.

iv. Lottie May Whitney, b. 17 Jul 1880, Boston, MA;[10] d. 15 Oct 1903, Boston, MA, aged 24 years 2 months 29 days, of tuberculosis;[11] res. 761 Adams St., Boston, MA.
v. Charles Melvin Whitney, b. 12 Nov 1882 (twin), Boston, MA [given name omitted];[12] m. 28 Jun 1905, Dedham, MA, Lela A. Corbin, b. ca. 1881, Worcester, MA, dau. of Albert H. and Ella (Bowers) Corbin.[13]
