Charles H.⁸ Whitney (Humphrey⁷, Jonathan⁶, (prob.) Jonathan⁵, Samuel⁴, John³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Humphrey⁷ and Almira (Dyer) Whitney, was born 13 Sep 1826, Cumberland, ME, and died 23 Aug 1899, Jackson Co., MI.

He married firstly, about 1846, Martha Jane Braley. She died about 1850, Kirkland, ME.

He married secondly, 17 Mar 1860, Jackson Co., MI, Ann C. Saunt, daughter of Thomas and Mary (West) Saunt. She was born Mar 1843, England.

Charles resided in Minneapolis, MN between 1854 and 1858. He was a veteran of the Civil War.
