Family:Whitney, Constant Hopkins (1801-a1840)

Constant Hopkins6 Whitney (Barnabas5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Barnabas5 and Sarah R. (Walker) Whitney, was born 12 Apr 1801, Freeman, ME, and died after 1840, lost at sea.

He married, 27 Nov 1834, Boston, MA, Caroline R. (Pierce) Nicholson.[1] She was born about 1816, Portland, ME, and died 9 Jan 1892, Boston, MA, aged 70, of Bright's disease.[2] She is said to have married firstly, ----- Nichols(on). She "Caroline R. Nichols", aged 37, married secondly, 16 Oct 1853, Boston, MA, Charles S. Morton, aged 31, born Duxbury, son of Josiah Morton.[3]

On 1 Aug 1838, he, aged 37 years, merchant, arrived in Boston, MA, from Nassau, West Indies, aboard the "Danube" of Scituate, H. Otis, master.

Constant Hopkins, born Freeman, Maine 12 April, 1801, was lost at sea. He was the first fruit merchant from Boston to Nassau, West Indies. He married 1834, Mrs Caroline R. (Fox) Nichols (1812-1892).
