Daniel Edwin⁸ Whitney (Richard⁷, Daniel⁶, Daniel⁵, Richard⁴, Richard³, Richard², John¹), son of Richard⁷ and Eunice (Cogswell) Whitney, was born 5 Mar 1832, Winchendon, MA,^[1] and died 3 Oct 1870, Anoka, MN, or Winchendon, MA, aged 38 years 6 months 25 days, of dysentery.^[2]

He married, 6 May 1857, Royalston, MA, Clarinda Ballou, daughter of Luther and Clarissa (Davis) Ballou.^[3] She was born 29 Apr 1832, Royalston, MA,^[4] and died after 1880.

He resided Anoka, Minnesota.
