Daniel6 Whitney (James5, [prob.] James4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of James5 and Mary (Thayer) Whitney, was born 26 Feb 1772, Winchester, NH,[1] and died 29 Mar 1857, Plymouth, VT.

He married, 25 Feb 1796, Ludlow, VT, Content Stiles,[2] daughter of Jacob and Abigail (-----) Stiles. She was born 10 Jan 1777, Keene, NH, and died 1863.

He was a cordwainer. He resided Saint Johnsbury, VT.

i. Ira7 Whitney, b. ca. 1797; m. Lucinda Hudson
ii. Betsey Whitney, b. ca. 1799; m. Harsha Nickols, and went west.
