Darius7 F. Whitney (Abraham6, Richard5, Israel4, Ebenezer3, Richard2, John1), son of Abraham6 and Betsey (Wellman) Whitney, was born circa 1807, VT, and died 26 Aug 1864, Fairfax Seminary Hospital, Alexandria, VA.[1] He is buried in Alexandria National Cemetery, Alexandria, VA.[2]

He married circa 1832, NY, Loanna Cook, daughter of Amsey and ------ (------) Cook. She was born 9 Nov 1815, Chemung Co., NY, and died 19 Feb 1903, Laingsburg, MI.[3]

Darius enlisted in Co. I, 27th Michigan Infantry, Dec 1863, and died of Typhoid Fever in Alexandria, VA.

Note: There are conflicting records regarding his date of death; 26 Aug 1864 and 11 Oct 1864. The later may be the date of re-internment at Alexandria National Cemetery.
