David Cushing8 Whitney (Silas7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Silas7 and Hannah (Cushing) Whitney, was born 14 Apr 1810, and died 28 Dec 1876, Walpole, NH, or 28 Nov 1876, Ashburnham, MA, aged 66 years 8 months 14 days, of Bright's disease.[1]

Marriage intentions were published 15 Oct 1832, Douglas, MA, for him "of Mendon Millvil" and Tyla B. Bowdish.[2] Marriage intentions were published 15 Oct 1832, Mendon, MA, for him and Syla B. Bowdish "of Douglas".[3] He married firstly, 21 Nov 1832, Tyla Buffum Bowdish, daughter of Nathaniel and Pauline (Buffum) Bowdish. She was born about 22 Apr 1814, Douglas, MA, and died 13 Oct 1866, Ashburnham, MA, aged 52 years 5 months 21 days, of congestion of lungs.[4]

He married secondly, 28 Apr 1867, Ashburnham, MA, Harriet A. (Stone) Avery, daughter of John and Martha (-----) Stone.[5] She was born about 1832, Plainfield, NH, and died before 1870. She had married first ----- Avery.

He married thirdly, 18 Aug 1874, Ashburnham, MA [also Gardner, MA], Harriett Ann Shepstone, daughter of James and Harriet (Leete) Shepstone.[6] She was baptized 30 Apr 1837, Bedminster, Somersetshire, England.[7] She married secondly, 11 Aug 1882, Ashburnham, MA, Robert E. G. Thomson.[8] She "Harriette A. Whitney" married thirdly (but said secondly), 4 Apr 1898, Fitchburg, MA, Samuel Elliott, of Manchester, NH, b. ca. 1842, Ireland, son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Hewitt) Elliott.[9]

He resided Walpole, NH.
