Dorothy5 Whitney (Daniel4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), daughter of Daniel4 and Dorothy (Tainter) Whitney, was born 31 May 1733, Watertown, MA,[1] and was baptized 19 Sep 1736, Watertown, MA.[2]

Dorothy married, 19 Sep 1751, Watertown, MA, Nathaniel Coolidge, "both of Watertown",[3] son of Nathaniel and Grace (Bowman) Coolidge. He was born 7 Dec 1728, Watertown, MA, and died 24 Dec 1773, Watertown, MA.

History of Paris, Maine.. by Daniel Livermore: Nathaniel, Jr., was born Dec. 7, 1728, married Dorothy Whitney and was also an innkeeper at Watertown Bridge from 1764 - 1770.

Pierce says the following:[4]

DOROTHY [WHITNEY], b. May 31, 1733; m. Sept. 19, 1751, Nathaniel COOLIDGE. He kept a public house from 1764 to 1770, on the south side of the river at Watertown Bridge, the first house. He d. bef. 1778. Ch.: Susanna, b. Dec. 17, 1752; m. Nov. 11, 1773, Elkanah WALES, of Braintree; Mary, b. Dec. 3, 1754; m. Sept. 3, 1777, William HUNT; gr. Harvard Coll. 1768, a lawyer of Wat.; Daniel, b. May 24, 1756; m. Elizabeth FESSENDEN; Nathaniel, b. May 4, 1760; m. Catherine BALDWIN; Grace, b. Aug. 19, 1763; d. Dec 5, 1769; Nathan, b. Dec. 6, 1766; m. Betsey CURTIS (a son Carlos gr. Mid. Coll. 1811, lawyer, state senator; res. Windsor, Vt., Gov., Vt.)
