Family:Whitney, Ebenezer (1788-1843)

Ebenezer⁷ Whitney (Ebenezer⁶, Ebenezer⁵, Ezekiel⁴, Ebenezer³, Richard², John¹), born Worcester, Massachusetts, 23 May 1788; married at Milbury, 4 Mar 1813, Anis Kingsbury; born 22 Aug 1791; died Nov., 1876. He was for many years employed in the Waters Government Armory. He died 15 May 1843, at Millbury, Massachusetts; resided Millbury, Massachusetts, and Tolland. Connecticut.

Children of Ebenezer⁷ Whitney:

i.	Martha Gates8 Whitney, born 22 May 1814; married 17 Oct 1832, John A. McDougald.
ii.	Henry Whitney, born 23 May 1816; died at sea.
iii.	John G. Whitney, born 10 Aug 1820; resided Independence, Iowa.
iv.	Ebenezer Whitney, born 16 May 1818; married Eliza Ann Robinson.
iii.	Prudence Ann Whitney, born 28 Jan 1822; died 25 Jul 1839.
v.	Asa Waters Whitney, born 8 Nov 1826; died May 1886.
vi.	Edwin Whitney, born 8 Mar 1829; married Minerva Barrows, of Mansfield, Connecticut; died 26 Aug 1867. He graduated at the Connecticut. Normal School, 9 Oct 1856. Was assistant superintendent and principal teacher of the reform school, Providence, Rhode Island. He gave his farm in Mansfield, worth $15,000 for the benefit of the Soldiers' Orphan Home. Was Supt. of the same when he died, in his thirty-ninth year, greatly lamented. His life was insured for $10,000. His wife was also a graduate of the same school.
vii.	Mary Elizabeth Whitney, born 12 Jan 1833; died 5 Sep 1835.
