Elden S.8 Whitney (James7, Benjamin6, Jonathan5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of James7 and Rachel W. (Holden) Whitney, was born 9 Jul 1843, prob. Denmark, ME, and died 15 May 1921, prob. Merrimac, MA.

He married firstly, 16 Dec 1868, Bridgton, ME, Arevesta Skillings. She was born 11 Jan 1850, ME, and died 10 Apr 1879, prob. Saco, ME.

He married secondly, 14 Feb 1880, Saco, ME, Jennie E. (Chase) Holley. She was born 19 Dec 1844, NH, and died 15 Jul 1899.

Elden and both of his wives are buried in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco, ME.

i. Herbert E.9 Whitney, b. ca. 1873, prob. Saco, ME; m. Letitia F. Brown, b. Apr 1877, MA; they resided in Merrimac, Essex Co., MA.
