Elias Isaac7 Whitney (Peter Berry6, Elias5, Jeremiah4, Nathan3, John2, Henry1), son of Peter Berry6 and Lenchy Helen Magdalen (Wells) Whitney, was born 4 Feb 1828, Onondaga Hill, NY, and died after 1910.

He married, 8 Nov 1856, Eden, WI, Elizabeth L. Odekirk, daughter of John and Phebe Ann (Robinson) Odekirk. She was born 29 Apr 1838, Hoosick, NY, and died after 1910.

Phoenix says the following:

". . . a carriage-maker . . . . They dwelt at Eden till 26 Sept. 1868; and then moved to Big Rapids, Mich., which was their home in June 1875. Before his marriage, he lived at Plymouth, Wis., for two years from Jan. 1852. He enlisted, 31 Aug. 1864, in Co. A, 38th Reg., Wis. Vol. Infantry; and was discharged 2 June 1865, at Delancy House, D.C., having taken part in the actions at Shady Grove Church, Petersburgh, Hatche's Run, Yellow House, and Fort Steadman."

iv. Elias Isaac Whitney, b. 5 Sep 1863, Eden, WI; died 20 Aug 1864, Eden, WI, where he was buried.
v. Caroline Belle Whitney, b. 18 Aug 1866, Eden, WI; d. 14 May 1930, Antigo, WI; m. 18 Sep 1884, Langlade Co., WI, James Spurgeon.
vi. Peter Berry Whitney, b. 20 Mar 1869, Big Rapids, WI; d. 20 Nov 1869, Big Rapids, WI, where he was buried at Big Rapids Cemetery.
