He married, 11 Jul 1855, Franklin Parish, LA, Frances Elizabeth Lyons. She was born circa 1837, LA, died before 1870.

i. Margurette Whitney, b. ca. 1856, LA, m. 3 Jan 1878, John Browning. Married secondly J. F. Bryant and thirdly Joseph H. Emerson. ii. Jane Whitney, b. ca. 1868, LA. She was also known as Jenny. iii. William Whitney, b. ca. 1861, LA, m. 12 Jul 1885, Mattie Kennedy.

Enoch lived with a Jane McAlister in 1860 and his children lived there in 1870. It is possible that since a Rugh Jane Whitney married Alex Carroll on 27 Apr 1847 in Franklin Parish, LA, that Ruth Jane could be Jane McAlister and that this was a transcriber's error. Jane McAlister would be just the right age to have been one of Enoch's sisters.
