Family:Whitney, Frank Willy "Whit" (1868-1951)

Frank⁹ Willy "Whit" Whitney (Luther⁸, Joseph⁷, Palmer⁶, Joseph⁵, Timothy⁴, John³, John², John¹), son of Luther⁸ and Ellen Augusta (Willey) Whitney, was born 23 Jan 1868, near Thomson, Carroll Co., IL,^[1] and died 14 Dec 1951, Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO.^[2]

He married, 17 Dec 1896, Clinton Co., IA, Lucy Ethel⁹ Whitney,^[3] daughter of Alonzo⁸ and Lucina (French) Whitney. She was born 14 mar 1873,^[4] prob. Ustick Twp., Whiteside Co., IL, and died 11 Dec 1943, Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO.^[5]

Frank and Lucy were first cousins, related through their common ancestors, Joseph and Sophronia (Taylor) Whitney. They moved to Hopkins, MO, shortly after they married in 1896.

Frank served as custodian of the Hopkins Public School for 37 years.

iv.	Frances R. Whitney, b. 18 Sep 1906, Hopkins, MO; d. 31 Jan 1907.
v.	Lawrence W. Whitney, b. 3 May 1909, Hopkins, MO; d. 20 May 1910, Hopkins, MO.
vi.	Lester Frank Whitney, b. 25 Nov 1911, Hopkins, MO; d. 28 Feb 1992, Bertrand, Phelps Co., NE; m. 28 Apr 1944, Rosella Tanner.
