Frederick Bailey8 Whitney (John Brundage7, Henry Platt6, Sylvanus5, Eliasaph4, Nathan3, John2, Henry1), son of John Brundage7 and Martha Ann (Bailey) Whitney, was born about 25 Nov 1850, Philadelphia, PA, and died 19 Apr 1900, Boston, MA, male, widowed, aged 49 years 4 months 24 daus, of La Grippe and Pneumonia, business manager Transcript, born Philadelphia, PA, son of John B. Whitney (b. Alexandria, VA) and Martha A. Bailey (b. Scituate).[1]

He "clerk" married, 20 Mar 1870, Boston, MA, Mary Isabell Hatch, both of Boston, daughter of David L. and Sarah A. (Crossman) Hatch, by Rev. Thomas M. Clark, Providence.[2]. She was born 27 Sep 1849, Portland, ME, and died 13 Dec 1890, Boston, MA, aged 38 years, of pulmonary phthisis.[3]

He was a clerk in his father's newspaper office, that of the Transcript.

ii. Alice Isabel Whitney, b. 31 Jul 1874, Boston, MA;[5] m. 15 Nov 1905, Boston, MA, George F. Stark, after his divorce from his first wife, b. Nashua, NH, son of John F. and Eva C. (Barr) Stark.[6]
iii. Frederick Harrison Whitney, b. 7 Dec 1877, Boston, MA;[7] d. 27 Jan 1880, Boston, MA, aged 2 years 1 month 20 days, of pneumonia and meningitis.[8]
iv. Henrietta Whitney, b. 19 Jan 1881, Boston, MA;[9] m.(1) 14 Jun 1901, Boston, MA (also recorded Brookline, MA), Irving O. Angier, b. ca. 1878, Lynn, MA, son of Oscar W. and Alice B. (Burt) Angier;[10] they were divorced; m.(2) 1 Dec 1910, Boston, MA, Arthur M. A. Keith, b. ca. 1881, Boston, MA, son of Walter L. and Mary E. (Willcutt) Keith.[11]
