George8 Whitney (William7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of William7 and Lucy (Brooks) Whitney, was born 6 Apr 1814, Ashburnham, MA,[1], and died 5 Jun 1858, Somerville, MA, aged 44 years 3 months, of liver complaint.[2] He was buried in Fitchburg, MA.

He married, 24 Nov 1850, Boston, MA, Mary E. Wedge, of Boston,[3] daughter of Lothrop and Betsey (Merriam) Wedge. She was born 23 Mar 1828, Boston or Milford, MA, and died 7 Dec 1906, Medford, MA, aged 78 years 8 months 14 days, of aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation.[4]

He was a paper hanger.
