George Clinton8 Whitney (William G.7, James6, Ezra5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of William G.7 and Marita (Draper) Whitney, was born Jun 1844, Woonsocket, RI, and died 12 Sep 1907, Southbridge, MA, aged 64 years, of enlargement of heart.[1] He was buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge, MA.

He married, 6 Oct 1874, Cushing, ME, Elizabeth Dunbar "Lizzie" Richardson, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (-----) Richardson. She was born Jul 1853, St. George or Naples, ME, and died 27 Sep 1907, Providence, RI, aged 54 years.[2]

iii. George Herbert Whitney, b. 1 Sep 1879, Southbridge, MA;[7] m. 6 Jun 1906, Southbridge, MA, Annie Mae Angell, b. ca. 1885, Southbridge, MA, dau. of Isaac O. and Sarah E. (Buckley) Angell.[8]
iv. Herman S. Whitney, b. ca. 1 Jan 1881, Southbridge, MA; d. 21 Feb 1881, Southbridge, MA, aged 1 month 20 days, of debility.[9]
