George Dayton9 Whitney (Harrison M.8, Henry7, Joseph6, James5, James4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Harrison M.8 and Hannah Maria (Hoyt) Whitney, was born 8 Aug 1858, Poundridge, NY, and died 22 Jul 1892, Waterbury, CT. He was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Waterbury, CT.[1]

He married firstly, 24 July 1879, Danbury, CT, Ella S. Palmer.[2] She was born 1859, CT, and died 3 Mar 1886. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Waterbury, CT.[3]

He married secondly, 2 Jun 1888, Bridgeport, CT, Martha L. (Rescott) Munson, daughter of Horace and Sarah/Salinda/Salina/Silinda/Celinda/Calinda/Caroline/Clarinda (Martin) Rescott. She was born 9 May 1856, Adams, MA, and died 8 Aug 1926, Watertown, MA. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Waterbury, CT.[4] She had married firstly, about 1876, James M. Munson. He had been born about 1851, NS, and died 15 Apr 1891. Saco, ME. They were separated betweem 1882 and 1884, and must have been divorced.

ii. Jennie May Whitney, b. 15 Sep 1882; d. 21 Feb 1883; bur. "Jennie E." Riverside Cemetery, Waterbury, CT.[5]

George Dayton9 and Martha L. (Rescott)(Munson) Whitney had no children.

iii. Nyle Robert Munson, b. 4 Jul 1882, Waterbury, CT; d. 19 Jul 1942, Waterbury, CT; m.(1) 31 Dec 1903, Wolcott, CT, Anna Jane Smith; m.(2) 5 May 1939, Waterbury, CT, Ernestine (Anna) Wilhemina Kott.
