George Edwin9 Whitney (Sumner P.8, Lewis Jones7, Jabez6, Jacob5, Jonas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Sumner P.8 and Elisa J. (Peabody) Whitney, was born 19 May 1854, Gardner, MA.[1]

He married, 21 Oct 1876, Orange, MA, Sarah J. Flagg, daughter of John D. and Margaret P. (Barber) Flagg.[2] She was born about 21 Nov 1858, Orange, MA, and died 16 Mar 1909, Orange, MA, aged 50 years 3 months 25 days, of valvular disease of the heart.[3]

He was a barber.

iii. (daughter) Whitney, b. 1 Oct 1882, Orange, MA (given name omitted);[7] d. 16 Oct 1882, Orange, MA, aged 15 days, from congestion of lungs.[8]
