George K.⁸ Whitney (Moses⁷, Hananiah⁶, Samuel⁵, William⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Moses⁷ and Sophia (Cutter) Whitney, was born 14 Jul 1826, Boston, MA, and died 14 Oct 1899, Boston, MA, aged 73 years, of paralysis resulting in cerebral hemorrhage.^[1]

He married, 7 Mar 1852, Stoneham, Frances Maria Green. She was born 25 May 1832, Stoneham, MA, and died 21 Feb 1854, Stoneham, MA.

He, of Stoneham, married secondly, 23 Aug 1857, Lawrence, MA, Susanna Clendenin, of Methuen, daughter of Robert and Phebe (-----) Clendenin.^[2] She was born 14 May 1833, Derry, NH, and died there 15 Feb 1881.

He married thirdly, 6 Jan 1897, Lawrence, MA, Ida Frances Gibbs, both of Lawrence, daughter of William and Elizabeth (Keyser) Gibbs.^[3] She was born about 1851, Groton or Ayer, MA. She married secondly, 2 Aug 1904, Somerville, MA [also recorded in Fitchburg, MA], Henry A. Dickson, b. ca. 1837, Groton, MA, son of Walter and Sarah (Eldredge) Dickson.^[4]

He resided 515 Lowell St., Lawrence, MA.

Caroline Viola Whitney, b. 8 May 1859, NH; d. 5 Aug 1896, Lawrence, MA, aged 37 years 2 month 27 days, of disease of lapra renal capsules;[6] m. 26 Sep 1882, Lawrence, MA, Philip James Head, b. 10 Jun 1859, Derry, NH, son of George and Martha (-----) Head.[7] Ch.: George W., b. 26 Jul 1885; d. 7 Jun 1888; Arthur Whitney, b. 22 Nov 1888; resided 515 Lowell St., Lawrence, MA. Son Arthur's name changed to Arthur Head Whitney by probate court, and he m. 14 Jun 1910, Fitchburg, MA, Estelle Gertrude Gibson, b. ca. 1888, Fitchburg, MA, dau. of Clement H. C. and Lizzie C. (Barrett) Gibson.[8]
