He married firstly, 6 Jul 1873, Wrightsville, WI, Emily A. Stockwell, daughter of L. J. and Elizabeth (-----) Stockwell. She was born about 4 Oct 1854, and died 27 Jan 1875 aged 20 years 3 months 23 days, Alma, WI. She was buried in Stanford Cemetery, Alma Center, WI. Her inscription reads: "Emily A./Wife of/G.K. Whitney/Died/Jan. 27, 1875/Aged/20 yrs, 3 mos,/& 23 ds."[1]
He married secondly, 23 Jul 1879, Jackson Co., WI, Rosetta E. Aikens, daughter of John H. and Rosetta (-----) Aikins. She was born Aug 1854, OH, and died after 1920.
