Hannah5 Whitney (Gershom4, Joshua3, Benjamin2, John1), daughter of Gershom4 and Sarah (Wood) Whitney, was born 20 Aug 1765, Palmer, MA.

She married, 15 Feb 1781, Brookfield, MA, Eli Gilbert,[1] son of Abner and Hannah (Jones) Gilbert. He was born 9 Mar 1762, Brookfield, MA.

He was a soldier in the American Revolution [Mass. Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution, vol. 6, p. 405; Vermont Soldiers in the Revolution, pp. 422, 442]. He removed after his marriage to Cavendish, VT, and from there to Argyle, Washington Co., NY, before 1790. Had one boy and three girls in 1790 (Census).

She and Eli Gilbert appeared on the census of 1790 at Argyle, NY; 3 males 0-15, 1 male 16+, 2 females.

Children of Eli and Hannah5 (Whitney) Gilbert:

i. Lucy Gilbert6, b. 28 Mar 1782, Cavendish, VT.
ii. Hezekiah Gilbert, b. 25 Aug 1784, Cavendish, VT.
