Harrison Whitney9 (Oreson8, Luke7, William6, William5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Oreson8 and Julia Ann (Lowry) Whitney, was born 26 Jul 1842, Worcester, NY, and died 12 Mar 1887. He was buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs, NY.[1]

He married firstly, before 1867, Ella Wager, daughter of John and Dora Lura (Weldon) Wager. She was born about 1848, Otsego Co., NY, and died after 1880.

He married secondly, before 1886, Emma Layton, daughter of Nathan and Mary Ann (Smith) Layton. She was born 11 Jun 1856, Richfield Springs, NY, and died 17 Apr 1929, Otsego Co., NY. She was buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs, NY.[2] She married secondly, about 1915, Fred Garlock.

Whitney, aged 77, of Utica, died Sunday, February 11 at her home, after a long illness. She was born in Richfield Springs on January 8, 1886, the daughter of Harrison and Emma (Layton) Whitney. For a number of years she taught school in the Richfield Springs area and then in the Main Street School at Whitesboro. She had been a resident of Utica for the past 20 years. There are no known survivors. Funeral services were held at 11 a. m. on February 13 at the Lankton Townsend Cronk Funeral Home in Utica, with the Rev. Arthur Brindisi of Westminster Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be later this year in Lakeview Cemetery in Richfield Springs."
