He married, 21 Dec 1866, Scott Co., IL, Susan Baker. She was born 22 Aug 1840, Lockport, NY, and died 14 Sep 1876.

He married secondly, 1894, Emma Alice (Brubaker) Brainerd, daughter of Noah and Catharine (Hite) Brubaker. She had married firstly, 7 May 1874, Alfred Nelson Brainerd. She was born May 1863, Stevenson, IL, and died 14 Mar 1942.
