He married 21 Jan 1860, Washington County, OH, Elizabeth Anderson, daughter of James and Catherine (Hoglin) Anderson. She was born 1840, OH, and died 1916, Washington, Page County, IA.

In the 1880 Census, his brother George B. was living with them.
