Family:Whitney, Henry S. (1821-1885)

Henry S.⁸ Whitney (John Rodman⁷, William⁶, Thomas⁵, William⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of John Rodman⁷ and Catherine (Schoonover) Whitney, was born 18 Feb 1821, Newton, NJ, and died 17 Mar 1885, Wellington, OH.

He married firstly, 23 Aug 1843, Hannah Shay. She died 1848.

He married secondly, before 1850, Catherine Gunn. She was born about 1827, NJ, and died after 1880.

His mother died shortly after his birth and he was raised by his mother's sister, Mrs. Margaret Rosencrans. He came to Camden from New York state.

iv.	John R. Whitney, b. 26 Aug 1852, NJ; d. 7 Jun 1877, Wellington, OH.
v.	Lorannah Whitney, b. 3 Sep 1858, OH; d. 12 Jun 1871.
