Henry William Whitney, ([probably] Francis, Henry), probably the son of Francis and Susan (Nassiah) Whitney, was born circa 1846, West Indies, and died after 1880.

He married, 1865, Jersey City, NJ, Eliza M. Fortin. She was born circa 1848, NY, and died after 1880.

On 13 Mar 1871, he and his family arrived in New York aboard the Schooner Mattie Holmes, bound from Demerara.[1] It appears that they were from the United States and just visiting Demerara. They had all occupied the "Cabin" while on board.
