His wife was probably Frances -----, buried 25 Dec 1667, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England as "Frances Whitney, vidua".
On 18 Sep 1635, "High Whitney of Coole" was involved in a feoffment.
On 20 May 1639, "Hugh Whitney of Coole, gent." was involved in a bargain and sale.
In 1647 he, listed as "Hugo Whitney, gen.", along with Johannes Wilson and others, brought suit in Chancery Court against ----- Bughall. He, probably in the same case, listed as "Hugh Whitney, Gent. of Coole, Cheshire, aged 48", was a deponent in a Chancery Deposition in 1648.

In her will, she describes herself as a "spinster". iii. Robert Whitney, bp. 3 Feb 1627/8, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England. He was perhaps the son listed as "Hugh" who was bur. 18 Apr 1637, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England. iv. Frances Whitney, bp. 21 Feb 1629/30, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England, bur. 6 Apr 1633, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England. v. Hugh Whitney, bp. 18 Aug 1633, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England. vi. George Whitney, bp. 1 Oct 1635, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England, (Whitney pedigree has 9 Oct), bur. 1 May 1637, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England. vii. Margaret Whitney, bp. 29 Apr 1638, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England. She was probably the "Margaret Whittney" who m. 22 Apr 1677, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England, Henry -----.

12. ^ "1637 Apr 18. Hugh Whitney s/o Hugh, gent", Cheshire Parish Record Extracts. While this extract named the child Hugh, we know that a Hugh Whitney eventually inherited the estate from his father. If the child bur. in 1637 was actually the Hugh bp. 1633, then a missing burial for elder son Robert is missing, as is a baptism for another younger Hugh who would later inherit. However, if the extract or the original mistakenly listed the child's name as Hugh instead of Robert, then no records would be missing.
