Ira7 Whitney (Daniel Thayer6, James5, [prob.] James4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of Daniel6 and Content (Stiles) Whitney, was born circa 1797, perhaps VT, and died after 1840, perhaps VT.

He married, 3 Apr 1839, Plymouth, VT, Lucinda Hudson.[1]

Children of Ira7 and Lucinda (Hudson) Whitney (possibly incomplete):

i. Julia8 Whitney, b. ca. 1830, VT; m. Henry E. Strong; resided Benson, VT, in 1850, and Cavendish, VT.
ii. Ellen Lucinda Whitney, b. 2 Aug 1840, Plymouth, VT;[2] d. 16 May 1904, Rindge, NH, age 63 years 9 months 18 days, of pneumonia, bur. Hillside Cemetery, Rindge, NH;[3] m. 6 Aug 1859, Gardner, MA, George Phillips, b. ca. 1836, Westminster, MA, son of John and Olive (-----) Phillips.[4]

Notes

Daughter Ellen's marriage record says that she was born in Orange, MA, daughter of John Whitney. Her death record, as widow of George Phillips, gives her exact birth date and place and her mother's maiden name correctly, although it, too, calls her father John Whitney.
