Isaac Smith8 Whitney alias Isaac Whitney Smith (Elmira7, William Perse6, Micah5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of probably Isaac Spencer Smith (see notes below) and Elmira7 Whitney, was born Jul 1834, ME, and died after 1910.

He changed his name to Isaac Whitney Smith before 1860.

He married, 13 May 1860, Phillips, ME, Mary Eliza Mitchell. She was born Jul 1839, ME, and died after 1910.

He was a farmer and millman; lived in Phillips and Madrid, ME.

ii. Fred E. Smith, b. ca. 1863, ME.

Notes

A probable father of Isaac Smith Whitney is Isaac Spencer/Spooner Smith of Township 3 Range 2, Franklin Co., ME, in 1850. He was born 29 May 1803, Farmington, ME, son of Jotham and Mary (Kannady) Smith, and married, 6 May 1847, Phillips, ME, Eliza Chandler Calden, b. ca. 1826, ME. He died 16 Mar 1870. In 1870 his widow and her family were living in the same household as her putative step-son and his family.
