James Madison7 Whitney (Paul6, Joel5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Paul6 and Catherine (Barker) Whitney, was born 3 Jan 1813, Saint Stephen, NB, and died 3 Jul 1854, Tucson, Mexico.

In many records, his name is given as Madison Whitney.

Marriage intentions were published 21 Sep 1844, Calais, ME, for him and Joan Carpenter, both of Calais.[1] He married, 6 Oct 1844, Calais, ME, Joanna Carpenter, both of Calais,[2] daughter of Alfred and Joanna (Jones) Carpenter. She was born about 1822, ME, and died after 1850.
