John3 Whitney (David2, Samue1l), son of David2 and Martha (-----) Whitney,[1] was born about Jan 1679/80, Pembroke, Bermuda, and died after 1727, probably Bermuda. John Whitney was baptized 30 Jan 1679/80, Pembroke, Bermuda (EBR assessment list of 1727, pg 34).

He was a minor when his father died, and in 1708 he chose Capt. Dan Keele of Paget to be his guardian (see Mercer, p. 245).

He married Rebecca Burton, daughter of Thomas and Mary (Johnstone) Burton. She was born 8 Aug 1711, Pembroke, Bermuda, and baptized 15 Nov 1711, Pembroke, Bermuda.

He was listed on the 1727 assessment list as residing in Pembroke.

In 1741, he served as executor of his father-in-law Thomas Burton's will, written 2 Feb 1741 and probated 7 Sep 1741. This will mentioned his wife Rebecca and his son Burton Whitney.[2]
