John A.⁹ Whitney (Alfred⁸, Horace⁷, Joel⁶, Jonas⁵, David⁴, Benjamin³, John², John¹), son of Alfred⁸ and Cordelia (Knowles) Whitney, was born 18 Dec 1874, Claremont, NH.

He married, 1 May 1897, Chicopee, MA, Harriet M. Markham, daughter of Russell and Elvira (Walker) Markham.^[1] She was born about 1867, or May 1860, Chicopee, MA.

ii.	Russell Whitney, b. Nov 1899, IL.
