John7 Whitney (Jeremiah6, (poss.) John5, (poss.) Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jeremiah6 and Lydia (Cole) Whitney, was born 9 Apr 1799, Weld, Franklin Co., ME, and died July 1859, Weld, Franklin Co., ME.

He married, 5 Mar 1822, Dixfield, Oxford Co., ME, Polly Temple.

Children of John7 and Polly (Temple) Whitney, possibly incomplete:

i. Sarah Whitney, b. 19 April 1823, ME; d. 11 Feb. 1863; m. Cassander Brown. [The History of the descendants of John Whitman of Weymouth, p, 125, Vol 1]
ii. Abigail8 Whitney, b. ca. 1830, ME. No further record found.
iii. Lydia Whitney, b. ca. 1833, ME. No further record found.
iv. John Whitney, b. ca. 1835, ME; d. after 1850. Note that he was not the John Whitney who m. Penelope Ward.
v. Daniel A. Whitney, b. ca. 1837, ME; m.(1) Jane White; m.(2) Mary -----.
vi. Amasa Whitney, b. ca. 1841, ME, m. Salva W. Phinney

Because of her age, it seems that Locina would NOT be a daughter of this couple. She could be a niece, daughter of John's brother Jacob, since she was living with Jacob's daughter Sarah (Whitney) Brown and her husband Cassander Brown in 1860. She is not found in 1870.
