John Franklin8 Whitney (George Washington7, John Smith6, Thomas5, Thomas4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of George Washington7 and Prudence (Stone) Whitney, was born 29 Oct 1847, Dana, MA, and died 21 Oct 1934.

He married 9 Jun 1875, Dana (also recorded Barre), MA, Abba Thompson, daughter of William and Abigail (-----) Thompson.[1] She was born Nov 1857, Boston, MA, and died 1953.

John Franklin was always called Frank. He remained on the family land in Dana until the Quabbins Reservoir was created. A large Stone Family Reunion was held there annually. Some of Dana is in fact still above water and the Whitney farm can be visited.
