Joseph7 Whitney (Jeremiah6, Jeremiah5, Jeremiah4, Nathan3, John2, Henry1), son of Jeremiah6 and Susan (Resseguie) Whitney, was born 15 Feb 1830, Tyrone, NY, and died (before 12) Feb 1922, Endicott, NY. He was buried in Union Cemetery, Middlebury, PA.
He married, 11 Oct 1855, Julia A. Spencer, daughter of Aurora and Catherine A. (Conklin) Spencer. She was born about 1836, PA, and died 1899. She was buried in Union Cemetery, Middlebury, PA.
He resided Niles Valley, PA.
Wellsboro Agitator, Tioga, PA-- Wednesday, February 15, 1922:
- "Middlebury Center, Feb. 13--- Joseph Whitney, formerly of Wellsboro, died Feb. _?_ at the home of his son, Max Whitney, at Endicott, NY. He was born at Tyrone, Feb 14, 1830, a son of Jeremiah and Susan Whitney. He is survived by his son, Max. His other children were: Edward of Wellsboro; Spencer of Niles Valley and Elsie Whitney of Niles Valley. Mr. Whitney walked out of a window on the porch roof, while the family were asleep and fell, breaking his hip. He died about 2 hours later. The funeral was held Sunday, Rev. Mr Porter officiating; burial in the IOOF cemetery at Keeneyville."
