Lemuel5 Whitney (Lemuel4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Ens. Lemuel4 and Sibel (-----) Whitney, was born after 14 Nov 1738, Stow, MA,[1], and died 6 May 1803, Stow, MA.[2]

Marriage intentions were published 14 Mar 1761, Acton, MA, for him "of Stow" and Elisabeth Wheeler "of Acton". Marriage intentions were published 15 Mar 1761, Stow, MA, for him and Elisabeth Wheeler "of Acton",[3] daughter of Hezekiah and Sarah (Buss) Wheeler. She was born 23 Jul 1734, Concord, MA, and died 16 Oct 1803, Stow, MA.[4] On 12 Jan 1804, Stow, MA, was made the citation of the heirs of Elizabeth Whitney, late of Stow, deceased more than 30 days ago; there were no male heirs living within the Commonwealth; served by George Maxwell.

On 5 May 1755, Stow, MA, Phineas Gates, gentleman, of Stow, was appointed guardian of Lemuel Whitney, in his 17th year, son of Lemuel Whitney, late of Stow, deceased, and posted bond with Amos Gates, yeoman, and Abraham Whitney, yeoman, of Stow, as sureties.

The will of 4 May 1803, Stow, Middlesex, MA: of Stow, yeoman, to son Lemuel; to daughter Marcy, to daughter Betty; son-in-law George Maxwell of Stow, executor; witnesses John Patch, and Jonathan Furbush. He left a will on 4 May 1803 at Stow, MA; of Stow, yeoman, to son Lemuel; to daughter Marcy; to daughter Betty; son-in-law George Maxwell of Stow, executor; witnesses, John Patch and Jonathan Furbush. On 12 Jan 1804, Stow, MA, his will was lodged. On 18 Jan 1804, Stow, MA, his will was proved. On 31 Jan 1804, Stow, MA, his inventory was taken by John Patch, Jacob Whitney, and Samuel Gates, totaling $446.83.

Pierce says the following:[5]

He was in the Revolutionary army in the company from Stow.
