Lucius Frederick Whitney (Adolphus, Benjamin), son of Adolphus and Martha (Powers) Whitney, was born about 1824, and died after 1893.

He married firstly, 28 Feb 1850, St. Joseph Co., MI, Jane Philips. She was born about 1827, NY, and died before 1865.

He married secondly, before 1865, Sarah J. Shattuck. She was born about 1827, NY, and died after 1865.

He married thirdly, 16 Aug 1873, Woodbury Co., IA, Mary Alexander, daughter of John Alexander.[1] She was born about 1853-1857, WI. They were divorced about 1879.

He "of Sioux City" married fourthly (but said thirdly), 28 Oct 1880, Woodbury Co., IA, Mary Alexander, of Sioux City, daughter of John Alexander.[2] She was born about 1853-1857, WI.

"Fred Whitney" was on a list of men eligible for military service, 1877, Westfield Township, Plymouth Co., IA.[3]

Sioux City, Iowa, City Directory, 1893: "Whitney Lucius F, farmer, Floyd river rd nr 18th."[4]

Children of Lucius Frederick and Jane (Phillips) Whitney, if any, unknown.
