Luther Warren9 Whitney (Nathaniel Gerry8, Joseph7, Nathaniel6, Nathaniel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Nathaniel Gerry8 and Charlotte (Thompson) Whitney, was born 2 Oct 1834, Grafton, MA,[1] and died after 1910.

He married, 7 Apr 1856, or 10 Apr 1856, Charlestown, MA, Ruth E. Tefft, daughter of Henry and Dorcas A. (-----) Tefft.[2] She was born 1 Oct 1837, Lonsdale, RI, and died 24 Feb 1893, Dedham, MA, aged 55 years 6 months 26 days, of paralysis.[3]

He resided Newton Center, MA, and Walnut Hill, Dedham, MA. He was a machinist.

iii. Charlotte Lucina Whitney, b. 28 Aug 1861, or 29 Aug 1860, Boston, MA;[7] "Lotta L." "Lotta L." m.(1) 1 Jan 1881, Dedham, MA, or 5 Jan 1881, Hyde Park, MA, Prof. Edward S. Cobb, b. ca. 1859, Nashville, TN, son of Jonathan and Martha S. (-----) Cobb;[8] resided Walnut Hill. He was b. 21 May 1858; m.(2) 18 Jun 1892, Dedham, MA, Rosco G. Sherman, b. ca. 1861, Edgecomb, ME, son of Jared and Emily (Baker) Sherman.[9] Children:
