Marshall8 Whitney (Reuben7, Reuben6, Richard5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Reuben7 and Milley (Pollard) Whitney, was born 9 Apr 1807, Harvard, MA,[1] and died 22 Jul 1882, Boston, MA, aged 73 years 4 months 13 days, of apoplexy and hemoplegia.[2]

Marriage intentions were published 21 Sep 1839, Hopkinton, MA, for him and Caroline W. Baker "of Worcester".[3] He "of Hopkinton" married firstly, 15 Oct 1839, Worcester, MA, Caroline-W. Baker.[4] She was born about 1812, and died 16 Sep 1846, aged 34 years, Harvard, MA.[5]

He married secondly, 28 Sep 1854, Boston, MA, Maria Sarah Breed, daughter of Nathaniel and Nancy7 (Whitney) Breed, and granddaughter of Josiah6 and Anna (Scollay) Whitney. She was born 7 Jul 1823, Nelson, NH,[6] and died 7 Mar 1899, Boston, MA, aged 74 years 8 months, of heart disease.[7]

In 1861 he lived at Waverly St., Roxbury, MA.

i. John Marshall9 Whitney, b. 3 Jul 1842, Hopkinton, MA;[8] d. after 1855.
ii. Charles Hovey Whitney, b. ca. Oct 1844; d. 28 or 31 Aug 1846, Harvard, MA, aged 1 year 10 months, of cholera infantum.[9]

Children of Marshall8 and Maria S. (Breed) Whitney, possibly incomplete:

iii. Henry B.9 Whitney, b. 27 Sep 1861, Roxbury, MA;[10] d. 20 Oct 1861, Roxbury, MA, aged 23 days, of infantile.[11]
