Martin Van Buren7 Whitney (Marcus Israel6, Samuel Platt5, Uriah4, Nathan3, John2, Henry1), son of Marcus Israel6 and Susan Abigail (Tryon) Whitney, was born 17 Jun 1836 (twin), Westfield, MA, and died 1928, Westfield, MA. He was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, MA.[1]

He married, 14 Mar 1866, Northampton, MA, or 18 Mar 1866, Guilford, VT, Maria C. Drury, daughter of Lucius and Adeline (Brewer) Drury.[2] She was born 22 Feb 1839, Wendell, MA, or 22 Sep 1839, Montague, MA, and died 5 Sep 1913, Westfield, MA, aged 74 years, of mitral regurgitation.[3] She was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, MA.[4]

Phoenix says the following:[5]

"He served for three years in the war of 1861, in Co. F, 27th Reg., Mass. Volunteers; and was living at Montville, Ohio, in July 1876."

iii. Minnie Belle Whitney, b. 27 Aug 1869, OH; m. 23 or 24 May 1888, Westfield, MA, Robert C. Dean, b. ca. 1866, Westfield, MA, son of Allen and Jane (-----) Dean.[8]
iv. Frank Harrison Whitney, b. 5 Jan 1871, Montville, OH; d. 3 Nov or 31 Oct 1903, Westfield, MA, aged 31 years 9 months 22 days, of typhoid fever.[9] bur. Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, MA.
v. Flora Adeline Whitney, b. 20 Sep 1873, OH; d. 1900.
