Family:Whitney, Martin Van Buren (1836-a1910)

Martin Van Buren⁷ Whitney (Marcus Israel⁶, Samuel Platt⁵, Uriah⁴, Nathan³, John², Henry¹), son of Marcus Israel⁶ and Susan Abigail (Tryon) Whitney, was born 17 Jun 1836 (twin), Westfield, MA, and died 1928, Westfield, MA. He was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, MA.^[1]

He married, 14 Mar 1866, Northampton, MA, or 18 Mar 1866, Guilford, VT, Maria C. Drury, daughter of Lucius and Adeline (Brewer) Drury.^[2] She was born 22 Feb 1839, Wendell, MA, or 22 Sep 1839, Montague, MA, and died 5 Sep 1913, Westfield, MA, aged 74 years, of mitral regurgitation.^[3] She was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, MA.^[4]

Phoenix says the following:^[5]

"He served for three years in the war of 1861, in Co. F, 27th Reg., Mass. Volunteers; and was living at Montville, Ohio, in July 1876."

iv.	Frank Harrison Whitney, b. 5 Jan 1871, Montville, OH; d. 3 Nov or 31 Oct 1903, Westfield, MA, aged 31 years 9 months 22 days, of typhoid fever.[9] bur. Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, MA.
v.	Flora Adeline Whitney, b. 20 Sep 1873, OH; d. 1900.
