Matthias5 Whitney ([prob.] Joshua4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), probably son of Joshua4 and [?Joanna?] (-----) Whitney, was born 19 Apr 1757, Hancock, MA.
He married firstly, about 1782-3, Dorcas Vaughan, daughter of David and Mary (Wightman) Vaughan. She was born 1762, and died 12 Apr 1793, Hancock, MA, aged 31 years.[1]
He married secondly, 1793, Olive Doty, daughter of Silas and Susannah (Bump) Doty. She was born 12 Jul 1761, Amenia, Dutchess County, NY.
Resided Hancock, MA, Granville and Fort Ann, NY.
