Milton⁸ Whitney (Asa Watrous⁷, Milton⁶, Asa⁵, Joshua⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of Asa Watrous⁷ and Mary Ann (Wightman) Whitney; born Pittsfield, Ohio, 18 Aug 1839; married at Oberlin, 4 Dec 1862, Susan L. Ware, born Aug. 2, 1841. He is a carpenter and blacksmith; resided Alta, California.

Children of Milton⁸ and Susan L. (Ware) Whitney:

i.	Francis L.9 Whitney, born 19 Dec 1868; unmarried; resided 1935 Geary St., San Francisco.
ii.	Harriett N. Whitney, born 2 Mar 1871; unmarried; school teacher; resided 425 Pine St., Spokane, Washington.
iii.	Chasm M. Whitney, born 20 Jan 1873; resided 1935 Geary St.
iv.	Agnes E. Whitney, born 16 Dec 1874; resided 1935 Geary St.
