Moses5 Whitney (Timothy4, John3, John2, John1), son of Timothy4 and Margaret (Bacon) Whitney, was born 20 Jun 1714, Roxbury, MA,[1] and died 22 Feb 1804, Newton, MA, aged 91 years.[2]

He married, 2 Oct 1740, Newton, MA, Rebecca Hyde,[3] daughter of Ens. Timothy and Rebecca (Davis) Hyde.[4] She was born 23 Sep 1720, Newton, MA,[5] and died 31 Mar 1803, Newton, MA, aged 83 years.[6]

On 5 Mar 1805, Newton, MA, Timothy Whitney, yeoman, of Newton, was appointed administrator of the estate of Moses Whitney, late of Newton, yeoman, deceased, intestate, and posted bond with John King, physician, and Jeremiah Wiswall, yeoman, both of Newton, as sureties.

On 13 Mar 1805, Newton, MA, his inventory was taken by John King, Solomon Child, and Jeremiah Wiswall, Jr., amounting to $1074.67.[7]

Four of his sons served in the Revolutionary war. They were in Capt. Phinehas COOK's Co. in Col. GARDNER's Regt. Three of his sons died in the army.[8]

vii. Ephraim Whitney, b. 16 Jun 1751;[20] d. Sep 1776, Newton, MA, in the army;[21] m. 13 May 1774, Newton, MA, Ann Fuller,[22] daughter of Capt. Josiah and Anna (Stearns) Fuller; b. 18 Jun 1749. She m.(2) (int. 13 Feb 1780, Newton, MA), Joshua Spear.[23] Child:
