Norman Sever7 Whitney (Elisha6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Elisha6 and Eunice (Seaver) Whitney, was born 22 May 1791, Westminster, MA,[1] and died 19 Feb 1863, Putney, VT, aged 71 years 8 months 28 days, farmer.

He married, say 1808, Melinda Bachelder, daughter of Azel and Sarah (Blanchard) Bachelder. She was born about 2 Feb 1789, Bradford, NH, and died 14 Dec 1863, Putney, VT, aged 74 years 10 months 12 days, widow.

In Mar 1850, he and wife Melinda were admitted to the church in Putney, VT, from that in Chester, VT.

In 1850 and 1860, he was enumerated in Putney, Windham Co., VT with his wife Melinda and his sister Tryphora.

The children in the family in the 1820, 1830, and 1840 censuses are unidentified.
