Capt. Orloff H.10 Whitney (John K.9, Oliver8, Oliver7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of John K.9 and Philura (Hubbard) Whitney, was born 19 Apr 1839, Franklin, VT, and died 2 Jun 1863, Alexandria, VA.

He married, 6 Feb 1862, Cordelia10 Whitney, daughter of Edward C.9 and Elvira T. (Yaw) Whitney (q.v.). She was born 24 Sep 1843, Franklin, VT, and died after 1900.

At the commencement of the last war he enlisted with Ransom Guards, of Saint Albans, at the first call for three months' men. Succeeding this he enlisted with the nine months' men in the fall of 1862, as adjutant. In Mar 1863, was made captain of Company H, 13th Vermont Regiment. Was afterward taken sick, and died 2 Jun 1863, in a hospital at Alexandria, VA, at the early age of twenty-four years; resided Enosburg Falls, VT.
