Robert Whitney, Gent., (Hugh, Hugh, Hugh, Robert), son of Hugh Whitney, baptized 22 May 1673, Wrenbury, Cheshire, England,[1] died after he wrote his will 3 Feb 1726[/7?] and before it was probated 19 Mar 1729. His son apparently did not probate the will in a timely manner, as on 15 Mar 1749 Hugh was deceased and Robert's widow Dorothy renounced being his replacement, recommending Thomas Craddock instead.
He married Dorothy -----. She died after 23 Mar 1749/50 when she resided Wrenbury, Cheshire, England.
In 1714, he was listed in the Poll Books as "Robert Whitney, Esq", owning the freehold Newhall Place, but residing 6 miles away in Whitchurch, Shropshire.[2]
